UPDATE: I have created a more robust and complete version using Actionscript 3 (also available in AIR). Make sure you check it out here!
Controls:
- Redraw: draws the mosaic once more with the same color set
- Change colors: pick a random color set from the current feed and draws a mosaic
- Color feed: choose between the 3 RSS from kuler.adobe.com or from my backup collection
- Color set: choose a specific color set from the current feed
- Iterations: how many squares will be drawn inside every big square
- Speed (checkbox): When checked, mosaics will be drawn in real time. When unchecke, they will be drawn in the background and then presented
- Speed: when real-time drawing is enabled, this controls how fast it draws (smaller values are faster)
Clicking on the title or author of the color set, takes you to this set’s page at kuler.adobe.com
This one is an RSS reader that reads color feeds from kuler.adobe.com with the highest rated colors, most popular, or newest colors. Then it uses one color scheme at a time to create a mosaic like the one you see above… Use the numeric stepper to increase or decrease the number of iterations (that’s the number of squares inside each big one) and the drop down menu to change the color feed source. It also has some embedded color sets in case a connection with kuler is impossible… Check it out.
